About lwandle mbambo:
Tell us about your artistic background and experience. What led you to pursue art as a creative outlet?:
I never took art lessons they were too expensive, so I had to be a self tought artist. I've always been an introverted kid growing up, always shy and quiet. Till I found art, it did the talking for me. Once I saw that I was naturally gifted in art, it became the only way I could express myself so I had to pursue it.
What inspires you as an artist? Are there specific themes or subjects that you find yourself drawn to?:
I don't have a favorite theme, but I do have a favorite subject, which is EGD. I favor it more cause it gives me the same opportunity as art to express myself with a pencil on a piece of paper. For me, inspiration is very broad. I don't have only one source of inspiration but multiple, I find inspiration in each day I spend living through friends; family; school; and surprisingly, even that one crush we all once had. There's a lot of inspiration out there. Why just have one...?
What do you hope to communicate or evoke through your art? Is there a specific message or emotion that you strive to convey to your audience?
I strive not to convey only one emotion or message to the audience, but multiple. I want to tell my life story the best way I know how to. I wanted my art to speak louder to the audience than my words would, and feel them with the emotions I keep with in me.
Are there any particular artists or art movements that have influenced your work? How have they shaped your artistic perspective?
There is no artist that motivated me. My work has always been original and authentic. It's always been just me doing what I love since primary. You don't need others to motivate you into doing what you love.
How do you handle criticism or feedback on your artwork? How do you use it to grow and improve as an artist?
I either take it as a compliment cause having haters is a sign that your already winning, or I use it and channel all that hate to make a stunning piece of artwork. Sometimes, feedback can sound harsh but be true. So I take it as advice to do even better and work harder next time around.
Are there any specific goals or aspirations you have for your artistic career? How do you plan to pursue them?
I plan one using my artist talents to either becoming a civil engineer or an architect where I can bring my work life, and I mean that quiet literally. I also plan to have my own tattoo shop on the side where I also sell my art.
